The legal basis for this is under the Building Act 1984 & Building Control Performance Standards 2017 edition.
You must complete the appropriate form in order for the Council to process your application. If the form is incomplete the Council will not be able to process your application.
Your personal information that you provide will be kept permanently, and for a minimum period of 15 years. The Council can be required to disclose your personal information to government agencies and for research purposes. Your name and the address of the property will be entered in a publically accessible register.
You have the right to access your personal data and to complain if you think your data is being used incorrectly. You may also have other rights, such as to have your data corrected or erased.
